Illuha – Interstices
CDStart with a room, a cleanish one, not too rustic, not too slick, and then fill it with tools, fill it with anything that can be used to make other things. Put the room in the forest, but not too deeply in, let’s have the city on the distant horizon. Then, let’s have two craftsman, artists, explorers. Tell them a bit about where the room is, but not exactly. Make them find it, together. When they finally do they will embark on their creations, but it won’t be the immerse-and-shut-yourself-off-from-the-world type of creation. To them, creation involves talking, travelling, experiencing, not just working. They are Illuha and this hints at how they operate. They are true musicians and artisans with a slew of talents that become all twisted and morphed when combined. On their 2011 debut, Shizuku, their room was a century-old church in Washington state and their tools; whatever instruments they could haul over from Japan and the pianos they were lucky enough to find inside. As creators they have an obsessive attention to detail but also know that the strength of creation doesn’t always lie merely in the act itself. Illuha knows the power of communication.£11.00 -

Illuha – Akari
CDAkari is the third album from Tokyo duo Illuha. Following 2011’s debut Shizuku (12k1067) and 2013’s Interstices (12k2028), Akari takes the next artistic step for the band. While Shizuku was recorded in the US and completed separately by the artists, Interstices captured the duo creating their exceptionally detailed music together live during a Japaneses tour. Akari, in turn, is the first studio album where Illuha recorded and mixed together, throughout the entire process. The beautiful st-robo studio in Tokyo put a collection of amazing equipment at their fingertips, from vintage mics and outboard gear to a vast collection of instruments, both acoustic and electronic. Their writing sessions were numerous and long with details meticulously obsessed over for nearly a year. The result is the most bewildering music Illuha have created to date. An album swimming with the most delicately tactile sounds and instrumentation that draws the listener in with hushed, motionless attention.£11.00 -

Solo Andata – In The Lens
CDIn the Lens, Solo Andata’s fourth full-length album, was born from recordings found in the interstices of decades-old hard drives, lost email threads from disused accounts, and forgotten samples recorded on cassette dictaphones. These fragments were combined and re-worked with newer elements to create an album very much in the spirit of the band’s debut Fyris Swan (Hefty Records, 2006), an album touched by both folk and jazz and swathed in a dusty, narcotic haze. Solo Andata’s Kane Ikin and Paul Fiocco have always pushed aside the digital studio in favor of a more haphazard and hands-on workshop vibe to their productions. They prefer near-broken acoustic instruments, cheap microphones and, as can be witnessed by their live performances, tend to turn anything they can get their hands on into a beautiful sound-making object.£11.00 -

Federico Durand – A Través Del Espejo
CDIt’s no accident that Federico’s music has a dusty air of nostalgia surrounding it. It has always been a very personal affair. Songs inspired family, local life and the world around him are woven by hand with a selection of very physical instruments. He works like a craftsman, piecing together fragments of sound from cassette recorders, small instruments and loopers and creates music that’s as softspoken as he is. No pretenses, no disguises, just the most honest and down-to-earth music that can be made. Broken melodies spinning from tape reels, the sounds of bells and small found objects being played with care... The music is as beautiful as it is introspective, like a small window of antique glass looking right into Federico’s soul.£11.00 -

Taylor Deupree & Marcus Fischer Twine
CDThe instrumentation on Twine is simple - electric piano, bells, stringed instruments... With careful and deliberate physical manipulations the sounds is subtlely abstracted, as can be heard on “Buoy,” where the tape machine mechanics themselves join in the recording to create a piece suggestive of the abandoned dock the two photographed in Iceland a couple of years earlier as it quietly knocked against the cold winter shore. Imagery like this abounds through the tracks. Slow, haunting melodies under a layer of warm tape hiss and accidental physical sounds give the listener plenty of room for imagination, reflection and the stirring up of lost memories. The intimacy of the tape loops combined with the lonliness of the sounds gives Twine a complexity beyond its simple form. Deupree and Fischer have created a intensely focused new work that draws upon all of their creative interactions since their 2010 debut.£11.00 -

Bruno Sanfilippo – Piano Textures 4 (Vinyl)
VinylSpecial transparent vinyl edition: 180g pressing, waxed black paper covers antistatic poly lined inner sleeves + postcard. Mastered by Ian Hawgood. Cover and postcard photo by Anja Matko “Part of the charm of “Piano Textures 4” is its intimacy and I feel like I am inside the piano at times. It feels like the whole album purposely holds back from going for a full melodic approach though and so some people who are less likely to get lost in mood pieces, may not find what they’re looking for here. Sanfilippo though has created an excellent mood piece for those who do want to get lost in an audio mystery as new layers of piano are unveiled – and if you have your imagination with you – you can wander off anywhere”£20.00 -

Brave Timbers – Secret Hopes
CDThis is a limited edition of 200 handmade and hand-numbered collectible copies. It is packaged in a lovely hand-stamped 127mm x 127mm 360 gsm olive cardboard envelope with the front cover image printed on a polaroid style photo paper and an insert sheet containing tracklist and information printed on a 190 gsm mocha brown cardboard. It also comes bundled with a download code coupon and a Sound In Silence card. Secret Hopes is a wonderful collection of exclusive new tracks in conjunction with reworked versions of tracks from the highly acclaimed Hope album which was released earlier this year. The new tracks were recorded during the Hope sessions, a really creatively intense and productive period for Brave Timbers, and were intended for this album but missed the cut late in the day. The reworked tracks came as a result of following an invitation from national Australian Radio ABC to do a couple of session tracks for a radio show. This invitation gave the duo the impetus to look again at a number of tracks trying something quite different, so they not only recorded two tracks for this radio session but finally reworked about half of the tracks of Hope album which they present on Secret Hopes.£10.00 -

Leigh Toro – Layers of Ash
CDLeigh Toro has been producing music for the past twenty years. Back in the day he recorded under the guise of Flotel and released works on the excellent Expanding Records. More recently he has been recording under his own name and has had albums out on Eilean Records and Handstitched. We are excited here at Rural Colours to bring you his latest work Layers of Ash, an album of frayed granular resonances. Layers of Ash started life as a series of short improvisations which were then woven together to create more developed pieces. Leigh tells us that he is currently producing longer form pieces of music that explore the textural qualities of digital distortion, bit reduction and resonance. He enjoys exploring the balance between the harsh noise and more subtle delicate sounds and how that balance can evolve over a longer period than he has worked on before.£9.00 -

Pleq – Re:composition
CD"The conception of 'Re:composition' as an album was easy. It consists of 11 remixes of my music which had been previously released on various labels including mAtter, Basses Frequences and Infraction Records between 2010-2016. All the artists who provided a remix for 'Re:composition' had previously released music on the label Dronarivm. By bringing together a creative group aligned to Dronarivm it is my hope that the record will fulfil the expectations of music lovers of ambient and drone". - Bartosz Dziadosz (Pleq)£10.00 -

Pausal – Avifaunal
CDTaken as a whole, the resulting album is a diverse affair but could be said to have more in common with their heavier work to date (such as "Forms", 2012) combined with an appreciation of texture (previously evident on "Sky Margin", 2013) than the ambient material they are perhaps better known for ("Lapses", 2010 and "Along The Mantic Spring", 2014). From the crackling drone fog of "Murmuration I" and darkly psychedelic "Murmuration II" - through to the urgent percussive metallics on "Scatter" and serene synth-scapes of "Soar"; there is a wide ranging sound world here for the listener to experience and just as the title of the record suggests, they are encouraged to allow mind to take flight...£10.00 -

Olan Mill – Cavade Morlem
CD“Writing and recording ‘Cavade Morlem’ was one of the smoothest experiences I’ve had producing an album. The tracks were originally created to be played at a handful of concerts throughout the end of last year. The shows were performed using processed guitar, violin and some pre-recorded samples of voice and organ. I was joined by Mike Jessop on violin for many of the songs and his contributions are sampled at various points on the record. I spent the beginning of the year reworking recordings from the live sets and trying to piece together something coherent. The resulting album is a far calmer experience than the original performances and I hope listeners find a state of mindfulness while experiencing the work”. - Alex Smalley£10.00 -

James Murray – Killing Ghosts
CD, SaleThis comes in our 4 panel reverse board card package in an edition of 500. In the spring of 2014 my wife and I stayed at a remote log cabin in the Black Mountains. Anne was taken ill from the moment we arrived and barely left the bed all week. I’d packed a laptop, small midi keyboard and portable hard disc recorder, and resolved that if we weren’t to have a break together I’d at least salvage something from the trip. I’d spent a lot of time around then thinking about how haunted we are by our lost loved and not-so-loved ones. About how these ghosts can be more than just absences, that they can actually exist in some real sense as shadows cast by our fears and regrets. The horse-whisperer who owns the cabin told us when we arrived of the local belief that up in those mountains the veil between this world and the next is at its thinnest. From the first nightfall to the very end of our stay I felt like the atmosphere in that place was charged, agitated somehow, like everything was on the verge of cracking.Original price was: £10.00.£3.00Current price is: £3.00. -

Tobias Hellkvist – Kaskelot: Reissue + Remixes
CD, SaleOne of Tobias’ little known releases appeared on our little sub-label Tokyo Droning back in 2011. ‘Kaskelot’ was a four-track E.P. that was incredibly popular in Japan, and coming housed in locally-sourced packaging, it was one of the highlights of this six-release label that was re-opened just after the Tōhoku earthquake. Being incredibly limited as a Japan-exclusive, the album has long been sold out. We are so happy that we will be releasing the updated edition of a personal favourite release of ours, and one that has continued the fine work Tobias had published for Home Normal with his revered ‘Evolutions’ in 2010, and his follow-up ‘Everything Is Connected’ in 2012. We had discussed a reissue of sorts for many years, and over a number of emails back and forth (and a good old chat in London when Tobias performed at The Vortex for us in March 2013), we came up with a list of remixers to expand on the original pieces which have since been remastered. - Ian HawgoodOriginal price was: £10.00.£3.00Current price is: £3.00. -

Midwife – Like Author, Like Daughter
VinylBlack vinyl LP that includes an 11x17 lyric insert. DL code included... Under the name Sister Grotto, Denver based artist Madeline Johnston explores the limits of minimalism in transcendental drone-pop. With "Like Author, Like Daughter", Johnston uses the Midwife moniker to craft triumphant, fist-in-the-air anthems that tackle themes of dislocation and falling in (and out) of love with a person, a home and yourself. "Like Author, Like Daughter" is a portrait of Johnston’s last year as a resident of Denver’s famed D.I.Y venue Rhinoceropolis which closed in a rash of politically motivated assaults on creative spaces across the United States. The album internalizes loss, addiction, abandonment and wrings them through distorted power chords, powerful leads, sheets of drone to create building, aching monuments to past-selves and lost relationships into a positivist statement of resilience and self-love. It’s a record that is impossible to listen to without a lump in your throat.£15.00 -

Ant’lrd – Sleep Drive
VinylLimited to 100. Vinyl release on stunning 150 gram clear vinyl. Included download code... Ant'lrd, the name given to Colin Blanton, is responsible for scores of moving synth-landscapes of obscured inputs and high cloud ceilings. For Sleep Drive, Blanton called on Odd Nosdam (cLOUDDEAD, .anticon) to master the record, drawing out inherent melodies in the album's stunning ambient compositions and anchoring Sleep Drive's beat-oriented tracks by wrapping them in a palpable, warm vinyl crackle. The result is something to lose an entire afternoon in without the slightest sensation of lost time. A totem against procrastination and inattention.£14.00 -

Narcisi & Fidanza – The Accordion Sessions
CDDeluxe digipak version of this release in an edition of only 100 copies... TRS's latest offering is from Francesco Maria Narcisi & Giacomo Fidanza, and is entitled “The Accordion Sessions”. Giacomo has provided the beautifully dense and drone filled accordion ambiances, and Francesco has worked his magic manipulating and processing these sounds, with added field recordings, into a glorious and at times even industrially fueled, expansive wall of aural bliss and intensity. Melodic, and yet fiercely relentless and driving at times. TRS071 is both a fitting soundtrack to these seemingly overpowering days we live in now, and an avant homage to this favorite instrument of more peacefully innocent and nostalgic times.£14.00 -

The Greatest Hoax – Expiration Compositions
CDFour panel CD Digipak with clear tray, sleeve printed on the reverse for natural matt finish. Performing as The Greatest Hoax, Washington, D.C.-based composer Taylor Jordan debuts a new conceptual album of contemporary classical music. Produced by Rafael Anton Irisarri, Expiration Compositions, his sophomore album presents a brooding yet hopeful take on a soundtrack to a peaceful death. Jordan displays an innately human fear of death through nine sequential tracks grounded in somber piano and ambient textures. Each composition adds nuanced layers of emotional complexity with the addition of a string quartet led by cellist Mark Bridges of Kranky Records. Expiration Compositions melds a fascination with how life ends with brave imaginations of that very process. The result is an album that disconnects the listener from daily life while guiding them gently through that which most frightens them.£9.00 -

James Murray – Floods Returned
CDI've always cared more about what's left unsaid, the less certain truths lightened through nuance not statement. It's unsurprising then that scattered throughout layers of the original twenty-one tracks are half-remembered melodies and fragments of what might have been. I knew the final released mixes could only be versions, as definitive as possible but ever fertile for reweighting, rebalancing and reimagining. Simply to recombine a few elements on many of these productions is to invite another composition to spontaneously unfurl, often equally faithful to the spirit of my intent as the original. Artists are all circling their private collection of hopes, fears, dreams and disappointments, looking at this strange assemblage from every angle, pushing and pulling to see what falls out. It's through this focused, sustained introspection that we occasionally get a glimpse of something beyond ourselves, enough perhaps to convert into something worthwhile to say aloud. I'll continue to look inward in my work in hopes of finding this gold of the soul, but here, now, I invite you back to one of the richest veins I've struck to date; to the waters that submerge, the patient, extended hand and the aching foothills of regret. Floods Returned. - James Murray£10.00 -

Dale Cooper Quartet – Astrild Astrild
CDThe Dale Cooper Quartet & The Dictaphones are returning with their 4th album called "Astrild Astrild". Like all of the previous albums, the band recorded the seven pieces at home in Britanny during several sessions between 2013 and 2016. The characteristics of this full-length are classic drone soundscapes mixed with deep tone saxophone parts that became the band's trademark since the release of their debut album in 2006. Slowly paced, the new tracks are following the Quartet's basic structure and classical sound. Apart from that the new full length conceals more live takes including guitars, bass and Rhodes keys and even piano sounds are haunting for the first time at the end of 'Ocho Acenteur'. With these new elements the songs of "Astrild Astrild" are pushed further into a large tunnel of deafening rhythmic parts and field ambiant textures.£11.00 -

Orson Hentschel – Electric Stutter
CDDescribing Orson Hentschel only as a composer of contemporary music does not do him justice. In his self-conception as an audio-visual artist he creates his own live show, combining lights, visuals and fog to a stunning atmosphere, which cannot be eluded. Supported by live-drummer Lukas Baumgart, Hentschel delivers a sound, whose energy is physically palpable and electrifies the audience. A live-show generating an intense experience, going to the limit and erasing any sense of time. Orson Hentschel moves perceptions not merely through sheer volume, but with driving repetitions and extensive tension.£11.00 -

Bleach For The Stars – The Time For Silver Flowers
CDGlass mastered and manufactured CD, comes in a 4 panel CD Card Wallet, shrink-wrapped. Additionally included is a printed card with the poem "The time for silver flowers" by Bleach For The Stars... Bleach For The Stars is the dark ambient, drone & industrial project of Benjamin Power, hailing from the UK. His music is best described as an intense, raw and powerfully emotional journey into the dark regions of his mind. Ben uses his art to deal with his past and his life's experiences. Without going into his personal details it is clear to the listener that Ben has had his fair share of tragedy and bleak moments in life. This results in extremely profound musical pieces that create a mencing feeling but also make you appreciate them as something very pure and unreserved. Seldomly has music been such a direct and stark statement as with this album. "The time for silver flowers" is a therapeutic and dramatic expression by an artist who is truly fascinating.£10.00 -

Machinefabriek – Crumble
CDMachinefabriek’s new album, ‘Crumble’, is full of dramatic turns, immersive drones, glitchy electronics and intimate gestures. The long form piece was made by having violin player Anne Bakker and vocalist Edita Karkoschka improvise on an electronic track, and using these recordings (and added electronics and field recordings) to sculpt the 34 minute ‘Crumble’. Rutger Zuydervelt started doing music as Machinefabriek in 2004, and has released a slew of albums since. Besides operating solo (from his homebase Rotterdam or live on stages worldwide), he’s a keen collaborator, working with (electronic, jazz or classical) musicians, film makers as well as choreographers. Rutger didn’t study music, but graduated as a graphic designer.£9.00 -

Irving Park – 3 5 1
3"Pre-order: Release date 01.06.17 Each copy of this beautiful album will be completely unique from the next including dusty Bartholomew clothbound maps, circa 1880-1940. With each listener being in the possession of a map, treasures are waiting to be unearthed. As such, '5 2 1' takes the listener on a deeply personal journey which mirrors the very subjectivity of music; each and every listener will experience it differently. Life echoes into the music, because the journey is what ultimately matters, the invaluable experiences shaping the record for all of its days to come, and navigation is never a straight forward thing! A complete / unique vintage (very rare) Bartholomew's clothbound foldout map, 3 x hand stamped three inch CDs housed in coloured seethrough covers, set of three Gerald Leslie prints pressed on luxury 250g gesso card stock, vintage roll-bell bus tickets individually numbered to represent the number of each CD edition. Steve Pacheco – Constellate
TapeNumbered edition of 90 copies with handmade artwork and a dried flower... Across its 7 pieces, all of Constellate, from its song titles to its feeling, the whole thing, can be heard as a series of broad strokes that drift over the listener and have a mysteriously hypnotic quality, or a series of smaller brush strokes that add up to a much grander whole than the sum of its parts. Even the song titles bring together references to the grand scale of the entire night sky hovering over a planet matched against references to something that seems deeply personal. But perhaps the biggest credit to Constellate is that no matter the interpretation, whether it be grand global narrative or personal story, it’s an album that just plain works on both levels. And much like the mystery created by Pacheco’s deliberate disinterest in personal biography, the album has a mystery of its own going for it: why’s it so damn good? “Constellate” is a remarkable offering by any definition; that it serves as a debut release for an artist only compounds how impressive it is. - Brendan Moore (Fluid Radio)£10.00 -

Notilus – ST
CDNotilus is the new project of five established French musicians combining cinematic soundscapes, energetic jazz and atmospheric live electronics. With a decent amount of performances at several French festivals the quintet presents its s/t debut album via Denovali in spring 2017. The cleverly compiled repertoire varies from positively trombone and sax driven jazz parts with a deep sense for sophisticated melodies to calmer, melancholic soundscapes back to beat driven, dynamic, buzzy sound cascades. Sometimes the albums delivers a feeling of a soundtrack for a 70s crime movie - sometimes it sounds like an intergalactic, retro-futuristic trip - always with an ironic and positive view on the own creative work£11.00 -

Kate Carr – The Story Surrounds Us
TapeEmblematic of her work is a gentle dislocation between the environmental sounds and her drone-dub ellipses of somnambulant melody. The clatter of a frozen dock or a vibrational shimmer from rustled objects or the unintelligible whispers displaces the sense of self amidst a sea of disparate symbols and coded thought. More a travelogue in and out of one's own body than to any particular place. Carr suggests "In a way, it is about restlessness, an uncomfortable tossing and turning in all these many different places, a struggle somehow to forge a connection between my own internal world and all these places and persons I have encountered. I think this holds a sense of unease and strain, with both beautiful and failed moments of intimacy and connection which are made either possible or impossible in the difficult and distorted context of being away. It is quite sad, really." Look to Carla dal Forno, Alan Lamb and those moments of clarity in the shapeshifting ethos from Jewelled Antler for neighboring sounds to Kate Carr's chimerical compositions. - HS£7.00 -

Mark Templeton – Gentle Heart
VinylPre-order: 20 June 2017 Mark Templeton returns with the third instalment in his Heart trilogy. Following on the heels of Scotch Heart (2011) and Jealous Heart (2013), Gentle Heart is a fitting closure to this story, an album filled with bending, yearning phrases - sounds that feel like they are actually speaking to you from another time, as if they’re being piped into the room where you’re listening today. There is a continued use of elements that hearken to tape machines and older technology combined with acoustic instruments and modern studio techniques and sensibilities, squarely centered in the contemporary moment. Loops stumble and fall off their track, then regain their footing, breaking the concentration enough to remind you that someone is here and paying attention. In both structure and emotion, Templeton captures time in a novel way - connecting points that don’t immediately lend themselves to such a connection, deftly balancing qualities that are both haunting and inviting. This music is one of imagined memory, capturing moments that never happened, but could have.£13.00 -

Nick Webb – Music For Severn Sirens
CDAn atmospheric ambient album featuring 8 distinct tracks from Nick Webb... The title track is based on recordings of the "Severnside Sirens". These are warning sirens based along the coast from Avonmouth towards Clevedon in North Somerset. There are 12 siren stacks which would be used in the event of a chemical leak or fire on Avonmouth docks. The sirens are tested once a month and create a live "Steve Reich" style phase track. You hear the different sound sources coming in and out of phase as the sound travels from the various sirens.£8.00 -

Phil Maguire – Solo Computer Music
TapeCrackles and shapeless tones waft across each other in slow-mo digital drift, motherboard reveries transmitted deep from a hard disk on standby. There’s a satisfying sense of algorithmic self-determination at times here, yet the fact that these two pieces are actually edits of live, human performances in no way detracts from their terse machine anomie. Originally broadcast on BBC Radio 3 in 2016 – a triumph of public service broadcasting! – the first cut, there will be no miracles here, sees Maguire alternating the scuffle and buzz of his software with abrupt snatches of found sound. The disjunction between the two is deliberate, the disembodied voices of Maguire’s samples, possibly clips of old adverts and public information films, bursting out from the dusty blur as if trying to escape from an archive prison.£6.00 -

Phil Maguire – This This
CDLimited edition (50 copies only) professionally duplicated CD in case with wraparound sleeve printed on brown sugar paper. Each copy contains a unique genuine Victorian photographic portrait... "This This" is an extraordinary collection of sounds made with a Raspberry Pi (the credit card sized bit of circuitry which is used to teach kids about coding). Maguire manages to create a world of microscopic sounds, clicks, whirrs and fields of electrical noise that are compellingly alien, and yet capture something of the excitement of those early forays into "glitch" music of the mid '90s. It's a whole new delicate beauty..£6.00 -

Paskine – The Shapes of Collapses
CDThe Shapes of Collapses is Paskine’s sophomore album. His debut album Nimod was released in 2014 by VoxxoV Records. His new album is composed of ten tracks (and two bonus tracks) mirroring the different shapes of collapses and explosions. It is a die-hard work striving to reach sound abstraction as close as possible, and it sometimes achieves this goal. As a result, the melodies, the rhythmics, and the other repetitive elements constantly evolve until they collapse and drown in their own sonorous and abrasive streams. It only comes to mutation and the evolution of sounds. Consequently, this album can be equated with a repetition of cycles freely inspired by natural disasters such as the melting of ice caps, volcanic eruptions, meteorological anomalies and so on. The sound elements are all exclusively electronic. The Shapes of Collapses is the result of several years of work and research. The latter were accomplished especially thanks to the gmem CNCM in Marseilles, who offered their invaluable help during a research residency in 2015 and 2016.£11.00 -

Gaetan Gromer – Noise Level
CDNoise Level is an attempt of sound illustration of this idea and, like in the short story, the library holds a central place. All compositions are built from real sounds recorded in ordinary libraries. After transformation, these heterogeneous sounds blend into a new environment, where a coffee machine might as well be a melodic instrument and the sounds of book handling, a percussion set. The creative gesture then represents a link between the concrete manifestations of reality and the imaginaries…£11.00 -

Damian Valles – Strand
CDStrand is a work of brilliance, blurring the boundaries between exceptionally bleak drone and haunted minimal industrial, with mind-numbing static electricity buzzing behind your eyes, motorik rhythms made from detritus tumbling around in empty oil drums, and deep low-end generator thrum vibrating under the sound of hanging scythes clanking like wind chimes, these are the sparse & ominous sounds of the heavy woes carried through life, the ones nobody sees but everybody endures, when you catch a glimpse of Death in your reflection, Valles’ music helps you dismiss it and just focus on the insanity at hand.' - Justin Snow£11.00 -

Hotel Neon – Context
CD, DeluxePre-Order: Release Date 01.05.17 Two tone / 4 panel hand made letter-pressed Somerset cotton covers, glass mastered CD, set of ten prints by Nieves Mingueza pressed on luxury 250g gesso card, antique (1890-1940) photograph that has been hand distressed to hold a secret message; hold to the light and all will be revealed! A set of hand numbered vintage negative prints; one black & white photo and one film slide. All of the above rests inside stitched / sealed glassine bags with patchouli scent. In the spirit of honoring the power of contextual cues and lenses on the musical translation process between artist and listener, Hotel Neon set about the task of creating an album as open to context as possible. This is a theme we had previously explored with other projects (i.e. “Forms” by The Sound Of Rescue), but never with so much awareness and personal experience driving the endeavor. “Context” is an intentionally minimal experience and although the intensity of the tracks ebbs and flows, it is equally at home in the background and foreground. This is an album ready to be enjoyed and appreciated in any circumstance or setting, and we await the interpretations. - HN£20.00 -

Aldinucci / M. Gri – Segmenti
CDLimited edition: elegant handmade sleeve with cover album in polaroid format inside the eco packaging… Segmenti is the first album born in 2016 by the artistic collaboration between Giulio Aldinucci and Francis M. Gri. A strong emotional work recorded in a difficult year that has definitely influenced the creative process of the five songs. Earthquakes, terrorist attacks, social fractures, walls, hatred, fear, are tragic events that have certainly shaped the sound of this album. An hypnotic and pulsating sound that combines two different styles naturally balanced in “Segmenti”. Ambient textures and field recordings, piano and guitar are the instruments that the two musicians have used to give rise to an unrelenting flow of kaleidoscopic sound suggestions.£10.00 -

Federico Mosconi – Colonne Di Fumo

Only Imagination takes shape, and if the viewer will surrender to the flow it will be part.£10.00 -
