Wil Bolton – Cumulus Sketches
CDCumulus Sketches is immediately expansive, with spread-out, immersive melodies and an oriental atmosphere. In general, the music is tranquil, restorative, and healthy, and the tracks are given time to properly develop, feeling more like fully-grown pieces and less like the sketches of its title. The blurred effect of reverb only adds to the dream, making Cumulus Sketches the perfect soundtrack for cloud gazing.£10.00 -
Andrew Tasselmyer – Impulses

James Murray & Mike Lazarev – Suññatā
CDFollowing last year's reworking of ‘Living Treasure’ James Murray and Mike Lazarev present a collection of post-classical compositions woven into delicate ambient textures. Suññatā is the experience of encountering the non-self, of a sound and its reflection meeting in empty space, found here in the remarkable combined resonance of emotive piano and uniquely reactive sound design.£10.00 -
Pleq & Hakobune – Adrift (Remastered / Remixed)
CDThis reissue of 'Adrift' by Pleq and Hakobune is a newly packaged edition of the 2012 NKR release now on Home Normal. The newest edition has been completely remastered by Ian Hawgood and run down from the original masters to reel-to-reel for a wholly new, more open and nuanced experience. It features remixes by Olan Mill, offthesky, and Polar M, as well as gorgeous new cover art by Giulio Aldinucci.£10.00 -
Anthéne – Collide
CDThe focus on melodic and harmonic development is strong and distinguishes anthéne from many a modern ambient musician, but developments are still allowed space and room, so the music never feels cluttered or rushed. Instead, Collide feels sparse and clean, gleaming with icicle-like tones.£10.00 -
Silent Vigils – Wake
CDAfter the deep monochromatic textures of 'Fieldem' and the gradually evolving impressions of hope in 'Lost Rites’ we now conclude the Silent Vigils trilogy of albums for Home Normal with ‘Wake’, an exceptional celebration of new life and boundless spirit. With Małgorzata Łapsa-Malawska once again providing her singular visual counterpoint, Stijn Hüwels and James Murray's three vigils arrive now at their perfectly formed conclusion, offering an uplifting and timely salve for these troubled times.£10.00 -
Chronovalve – Light
CD'Light' is the long-awaited follow-up to Chronovalve's Home Normal debut 'Trace of Light'. Released in 2013, the album was met with critical acclaim and 'Light' continues this work with positivity of spirit and open-hearted ambient refrains. 'Even in the most ordinary moments of life, one can get a feeling that there is an inspiration, a light trying to reach through to us. A person, a place, a sound or a song might unexpectedly open us to that light. These songs are inspired by, and explore that experience…that hope… that possibility...' - Mike Engebretson (Chronovalve)£9.00 -
Martina Claussen – Verwoben
CDacked with movement and dynamics, Verwoben swerves between the apparent, abstract and engagingly abstruse via pensive electronics, contemporary rumblings and harsher sections all swirling around the home base of Martina’s voice, that always lends the album a warmth even as the sound moves further and further out into more shadowy and desolate spaces.£9.00 -
Keith Berry – Viable Systems 3
CDLondon-based composer Keith Berry delivers the third instalment in his well-received ‘Viable Systems’ series. Like its two predecessors, ‘Viable Systems 3’ weaves synthetic textures and shimmering, nebulous ambient elements into minimalist pieces that evoke tranquility and excitement.£6.00 -
The Cray Twins – In The Company Of Architects
CDFor In the Company of Architects, their second album, The Cray Twins’ Paul Baran and Gordon Kennedy has assembled a virtual collective of musicians and sound artists, collaborating with only selective access to the contributions of others, and to the whole. The core duo of The Cray Twins take on the role of directors, composers and assemblers, in the process amplifying not only the performance of the collective, but also natural and artificial interferences, incorporating accidental sound sources encountered when arranging the album.£10.00 -
Erik Levander – Inåt
CDThe album title 'Inåt', translating 'Inwards', refers to the introspectiveness of the compositions, drawing inspiration from personal struggles in everyday life. The track titles and music cycles point to another layer of context with the ongoing pattern in politics, and of people turning inward, being somewhat inescapable. A more synth heavy release than 2018's 'Couesnon', Inåt still features a vibrant blend of digital, analog and acoustic sounds. The clarinet is present at times, but also traces of other acoustic sources, all put through their paces with everything from guitar pedals to digital processing utilised, as Erik twists them into some wonderful tones, trails and timbres.£10.00 -
9t Antiope – Grimace
CD9T Antiope duo band consists of Iranian musicians Nima Aghiani and Sara Bigdeli Shamloo. The band formed in 2014 and the main focus of the band is an experimental land, using layers of acoustic instruments, electronics and combining them with vocals and lyrics, in order to narrate tiny bits or huge landscapes of the chaotic worlds they vision, along with their inhabitants. They present their fourth solo releases and for the second time on eilean rec.£11.00 -
Seasons (pre-din) – Distortion Of The Cell
CDThe latest addition to the mysterious Mancunian’s catalogue is a varied release that takes in several stylistic approaches while remaining a coherent listen. Roughly half the album is focused on a meld of post-punk and dingy club influenced beats propelling the atmospherics that range from warm and engaging to full throttle and abrasive. The beatless interludes and final stretch take in some more restrained ambience as well as some searing efforts in that cross section between drone and the warmer end of the noise spectrum. There's a thematic and musical twisting of the lines that hints at a corruption at source and of self, and if you're in a good mood an eventual dissolution in the soaring static.£10.00 -
Rune Clausen – Tones Jul
CDTones Jul follows up the moods from “Mannen Faller”, a tribute to the long gone Norwegian forests, its animals and people living there in both fear and joy. Rune's Forwind debut is a darker and more anguished piece of work. Rune’s first solo album under his own name, is musically and thematically influenced by Norwegian folk music, ambient, ambient black metal, the rough and dark fates of 19th century people.£10.00 -
Ben Rath – Any Given Moment
CDSlow Heart Music focuses on Ben’s acoustic guitar playing whilst work under his own name is typically more Experimental and drone based. In ‘Any Given Moment’ we have an album that shows glimpses of plaintive guitar combined with Ambient drones to represent fleeting moments, memories and nostalgia. The combination is both restful and tinged with warmth, perfect for the Spring and the Summer months ahead.£10.00 -
Hipnotic Earth – Suspended In Silence
CDHipnotic Earth is an electro-acoustic ambient soundscape project birthed from a deep need for quiet, slow motion music; from a carnal urge toward silence. California, USA based artist Cosmos Rennert’s project began dramatically when in 2015 the scheduled release of his debut album ‘Essence’ was missed when his home in the hot springs of Harbin, Northern California burned down in a sudden wildfire which swept the community. His home, studio, possessions, work place and the tiny town in which he lived succumbed to the flames. He is now deeply grateful to be able to continue recording and we’re pleased to present, a record which sees a departure from Cosmos’ usual style of sleepy drones.£10.00 -
Jens Pauly – Vihne
CDFloating through empty streets late at night. No other people around, no distraction from a dialogue happening inside of you - looking for something, looking for nothing, looking for anything relevant. Jens Pauly's second album ‘Vihne’ is the soundtrack to a search between flickering lights and a cloudy sky, between emptiness and being alive. It asks the essential questions within us, in a tranquil state neither here nor there. Each track marks a microcosm of its own, a small journey through worlds engulfed in memories.£10.00 -
Arovane & Mike Lazarev – Aeon
CD"In December of 2017, Uwe and I started working on a project developing a particular musical language in exchange of thematic ideas. In my London studio, I would record minimal piano pieces, often late at night, sometimes with the windows open, to capture every sound resonating from the instrument. Uwe would deconstruct these compositions even further, extracting the brush of my fingers, the fall of the hammers, the breath of the strings. We both aspired to delve into this instrument and play with all of the sounds living within, as heard from the inside. Many ideas would come from Uwe in the form of a sketch, an aural vocabulary, or a sonic brochure, which I would interpret through a pair of closely placed microphones. There are even fewer melodies and even more spacial pianism on here than in my previous solo reductionist works, which Uwe so masterfully extracted with his experienced ear. In this incredible partnership, we have discovered a new dimension within the piano, which we are honoured to share with you" - Mike Lazarev£11.00 -
Michael Cutting – Luft
CDLUFT is the second solo release of Salford-based tape musician Michael Cutting. Continuing his experiments with reel-to-reel recorders, LUFT revels in the imperfections of degrading tape, faltering machines and roughly spliced loops to conjure an intimate yet visceral sonic landscape peppered with tape flutter, crackles and unsteady self-replications. At the centre is the dusty wheezing of a 19th Century organ, with the clicking of its rusty bellows providing much of the music’s rhythmic impetus while its piercing reeds underpin a gently microtonal harmonic language. Complemented at different times by an e-bowed violin, fender rhodes, clarinet, trumpet, sine tone generator and voice, the album’s seven tracks evoke a quiet, imagined journey, a journey both personal and geographical.£11.00 -
Ecovillage – Hold My Hand

Otto Solange – шон
CD"I’ve decided in 2019 to release some of the pieces of works recorded from 2013 to 2015 to let an imprint from this period and give a life to an other side of my sound works, more unknown by people who follow my other sounds projects. I've travelled a lot at this time and also, this period was precisely at the middle of a great change in my life. My son was born at the end of 2015 and a big part of these works have been recorded for him, with probably some memories from my previous journeys around the world." "All have been composed and recorded at home with a set of many electronic hardwares and no laptop (samplers, effects and loops). Using some various samples from my music collection library as a collage process and some other sounds have been recorded from a part of my solo instruments and electronics machines."£11.00 -

Ciro Berenguer – El Mar De Junio
CDCiro Berenguer is a guitarist and composer from Argentina who has lived for many years in Barcelona, Spain. He likes both traditional and nontraditional ways of playing the guitar: processing the sound through many electronic devices or playing just the guitar alone. Andrew Tasselmyer – Surface Textures
CDSurface Textures is the fourth solo album by Andrew Tasselmyer and was created with field recordings captured in Japan, China, Europe, and the USA from August 2017 to May 2018. The album is a soundtrack to specific, ordinary experiences that somehow became permanently lodged in my memory of those places. It is an album focused on painting a picture of unnoticed corners of the world, and a reminder that sometimes, the greatest satisfaction is found by looking past the immediate and into the peripheral textures of a place.£11.00 -
James Murray – Embrace Storms
CDJames Murray’s new solo work takes the form of two carefully constructed long-form sound collages; twin formations gradually unfolding in continuous, ever-evolving streams of delicately controlled chaos. In Your Head seeks to absorb turbulence opened-eyed while the anticyclonic In Your Heart trusts itself to the winds of change. Calm music for chaotic times. Embrace Storms is the first multi-format split release between Slowcraft and KrysaliSound, two collaborative independent labels based in London and Milan dedicated to presenting beautiful limited editions of minimal, understated and unclassifiable musical works.£10.00 -
