Laura Masotto – Fireflies
CDFireflies is Laura Masotto’s debut album and will be released on April 3, 2019 on Lady Blunt Records. It consists of 11 tracks composed and played by the artist. The tracks were conceived by creating sound overlaps with the aid of a looper, which forms harmonies that accompany the melody of the main violin. Strings and Mahir were inspired by Arabic tunings, while the violin, viola and cello in The Forest are tuned to 432 Hz, mer- ging with the sounds of nature recorded for an art project in collaboration with Elena Crisanti.£10.00 -

Anthéne – Asymmetry
CDnthéne is Toronto, Canada based artist Brad Deschamps who has been recording Ambient music since 2011, after also forming part of the duo North Atlantic Drift for which he’d performed alongside artists such as Benoit Pioulard and Bing and Ruth. Recorded and mixed in Oslo, Into Light is a classy meld of analogue synths, guitar and field recordings with vocals by Inga-Lill Farstad and cello by Elling Finnanger Snøfugl. The daily bludgeon of some of the worst human attributes is alluded to in the opening track ‘Degrade’. It sets the scene for what’s instore with a grainy piece of dark drone that touches on the kind of isolationism being practiced and felt at so many levels on planet earth 2018. ‘Echo Chamber’ follows with an obvious nod to the conversational cul de sacs that have become par for the course in the most acute way in recent times. CDMichel Banabila and Rutger Zuydervelt (aka Machinefabriek) have been collaborating since 2012. Although they both reside in Rotterdam, they (besides coming together for coffee) prefer to use the old file-swap-way of working. With each album, sounds and song drafts are frantically sent back and forth, in a short but super intense timespan of a week or two. This spontaneity is clearly audible throughout their music, with each album having its own distinct character. After the tight, post fourth world of 'Macrocosms', their fifth album 'Entropia' veers into much rougher terrain, adding distorted field recordings, bursting noise, nasty jump cuts and an overal sense of chaotic abstraction to the mix. Dramavinile – Silfra
CDSince 2016, dramavinile (Vincenzo Nava) attempts to match and combine lo-fi, electroacoustic, field recordings and abstract ambient. His fourth releases since 2016, "Silfra", is the name of a fissure between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates in Thingvellir National Park. The rift was formed in 1789 by the earthquakes accompanying the divergent movement of the two tectonic plates. The water is filtered through porous underground lava for 30-100 years before reaching the spring that feeds into Silfra. The water is therefore extremely pure by the time it reaches the north end of Thingvellir lake and it allows for underwater visibility of over 100 meters in Silfra. The glacial meltwater remains very cold in Silfra, but as fresh water is constantly filling the fissure, the water never freezes and remains 2°C – 4°C year round. Silfra is said to have the clearest water in the world.£11.00 -

CDThis is the hand made “standard” CD version of Arboretum in an edition of 50 copies. These come in hand stamped and altered black digipaks, each with a factory pressed disc. Each copy comes with a dried leaf, and is banded with a vintage arboreal obi strip. For Enofa, nature, and the inspiration derived from walking among the trees in the park and nature preserve near his home, plays a large part in the overall tone of this one long beautiful track. Like the Arboreta, which are regularly crafted to contain a range of contrasting shapes and colours, which gives them a very unique look and atmosphere, this wondrous soundscape of sorts, incorporating field recordings, moody guitars and synth, and electronic treatments perfectly reflects the calming and mysterious feel of the long and languid glorious English days of the moment.
