Amklon is a duo from Naples, composed of Giuseppe Mascia (electronics) and Sergio Albano (Aluminum guitar). Their music is the point of meeting of so many seemingly irreconcilable worlds: an architecture of dark synthetic sounds and avant-gard noise floating on atmospheric textures and confessional voices.
The result is a complex system of unusual forms, which barely contains a substance made of organic and nonorganic sounds.
The guitar sources are treated through the electronics, creating a continuos flow of tension and movement. It’s a desertic and gloomy experience, a descent into the dark corners of sound.

Riser was borne out of a desire to bring the sound of the human voice to the core of Fieldhead’s music, and to rally against an idea of it as peripheral, as an afterthought to the music. The EP continues the love of tape hiss, grainy textures and dusty loops married with brevity and melody to be found in the album preceeding it (‘They Shook Hands for Hours’), but this time the pallete has been stripped back to just the human voice and minimal, organic synthesisers.

He co-founded the Apestaartje collective/label in 1998 while studying at The Art Institute of Chicago. The label released works by like-minded artists from Australia, Japan, Germany, Austria, France, and the US as well as several of his own works. Holtkamp has released two solo albums under the name Aero (Apestaartje) and four albums as Mountains (Apestaartje, Catsup Plate, Thrill Jockey), a duo project with Brendon Anderegg, as well as an album under his own name (Type). Gravity/Bees marks his first solo release on Thrill Jockey.
