Tropic of Coldness – Maps Of Reason

"Maps of reason" is the new album by the duo Gutman / La Placa, a mature work of rare sensitivity that manages to combine all the nuances of the soul as points of a map that every human being hides inside. A deep and layered album that struck me from the first moment and that continues to affect me with new details that emerge with each listening. There are works that are born perfectly aligned with the creative flow, capable with their inspiring charge of really carrying the listener to far away places. I believe that "Maps of reason" has this inner strength and in a world so overflowing with soulless music it is truly an unexpected gift.

James Murray – Embrace Storms (Vinyl Edition)

James Murray’s new solo work takes the form of two carefully constructed long-form sound collages; twin formations gradually unfolding in continuous, ever-evolving streams of delicately controlled chaos. In Your Head seeks to absorb turbulence opened-eyed while the anticyclonic In Your Heart trusts itself to the winds of change. Calm music for chaotic times. Embrace Storms is the first multi-format split release between Slowcraft and KrysaliSound, two collaborative independent labels based in London and Milan dedicated to presenting beautiful limited editions of minimal, understated and unclassifiable musical works.

    Federico Dal Pozzo – Untitled_VNZ

“Untitled_VNZ” is an acousmatic concert dedicated to Venice and its sound. A sound that vibrates of water, stone, re, metal , all of which in a continuous movement of sensorial and mnemonic evolution. Time becomes water that collects re exes of our hearing and later absorbing to design a story of echo in new notions of forms. An orchestrated composition from the city's topology, a city that makes one think of music papers in a continuously played music: the scores come together like sea waves, the pentagram bars are canals with its numerous “legato” of bridges, of high churches windows, and let's not forget the violins on the edge on the gondolas. Its Music is bigger than the orchestra, and there is no hand big enough to ip the score sheet.

James A. McDermid – Tonal Glints

"This album is dedicated to my sister, Harriet, who died in August 2016. Throughout the 2 years she was ill - leading up to her death - I had started writing music as a way to privately articulate what I was feeling. After she'd passed away, there was the question around what to do with the many tracks I had written; they had, in all honesty, been written for her. For me to perhaps leave them sitting on a hard-drive seemed a disappointing end to what amounted to, in my mind, a tribute to her. About 6 months later, I was fortunate enough to be offered a 25 track album release (titled Ghost Folk) though Canadian label, Polar Seas Recordings, in April 2017. Her death is the worst thing that's ever happened to me; once the original shock dissipated, a wall of grief fell on me and, as a result, I found it an almost impossible task seeing my world in quite the same way as I once had. The wear and tear of life became suffocating, so I continued with the idea of channeling what I was feeling, into music; however, coming to terms with Harriet's death, rather than her illness, started to cloud and confuse what I was doing. In the end, it was Sophie Calle's book Exquisite Pain - a book arguably about grief in its various forms - that provided me with the clarity I needed. Calle's writing - in particular the people in it trying to come to terms with their own similar tragedies - helped shape and direct my own thoughts; Exquisite Pain acted as a conduit for what I was both feeling and trying to convey. Tonal Glints is the end result." - James A. McDermid

DR – Field Recording Meets Sound

DR is the project of German sound artist Dominic Razlaff.
The idea of his third official album was to create sounds which support the field recordings recorded in 2017 in his town (Braunschweig, Germany). To create the sounds/textures he used Novation’s Xio Synthesizer and a ukulele with granular synthesis. The result is an emotional album of 15 tracks, a special soundtrack for the winter arriving.

    Aldinucci / M. Gri – Segmenti

Limited edition: elegant handmade sleeve with cover album in polaroid format inside the eco packaging… Segmenti is the first album born in 2016 by the artistic collaboration between Giulio Aldinucci and Francis M. Gri. A strong emotional work recorded in a difficult year that has definitely influenced the creative process of the five songs. Earthquakes, terrorist attacks, social fractures, walls, hatred, fear, are tragic events that have certainly shaped the sound of this album. An hypnotic and pulsating sound that combines two different styles naturally balanced in “Segmenti”. Ambient textures and field recordings, piano and guitar are the instruments that the two musicians have used to give rise to an unrelenting flow of kaleidoscopic sound suggestions.

Federico Mosconi – Colonne Di Fumo

Limited edition: elegant handmade sleeve with cover album in polaroid format inside the eco packaging... 8 undefined and changing soundscapes as the figures drawn by the smoke, columns of sound to create illusory structures, expanded spaces, eclipsed images to re-emerges transfigured. Sporadic noises of objects and nature seem to suggest the listener a reading key, but it is a moment, not enough to create a sharp image. Only Imagination takes shape, and if the viewer will surrender to the flow it will be part.
