    Foudre! – Earth

    ,
Electric Blue vinyl with black inner, poly-lined paper sleeve. Includes a download of the entire album emailed to you... Commissioned by Silke Schmickl from Lowave for the festival 'Singapour Mon Amour' in Paris, this album was recorded in the 16th century gothic church of Saint-Merry in June 2015 as a live soundtrack performance for EARTH - an experimental film directed by one of the most important Singaporean contemporary artists, Ho Tzu Nyen. Acclaimed by art and film critics worldwide and presented at some of the most prestigious international film festivals (Cannes, Venice, Rotterdam..), EARTH is inspired by the works of classical European painters such as Caravaggio, Rembrandt and Delacroix. The film unfolds dramatically as the camera moves across a theatrically choreographed scene involving 50 actors, as the details of a post-apocalyptic landscape are revealed frame by frame.

    Paul Beauchamp – Grey Mornings

    ,
Two years after the release of the critically acclaimed, Pondfire, Paul Beauchamp returns with his second solo album, Grey Mornings. Once again tapping into geographical influence for inspiration, the nine tracks of ambient drones reflect the feelings and emotions experienced during the early hours of grey, foggy mornings in both the Piedmont region of Beauchamp’s birthplace in North Carolina and the Piemonte region of Northern Italy where he now resides. Beauchamp continues his research into experimental ambient but at the same time has deviated into new territory moving away from the minimalism of Pondfire through the use of various acoustic and electric instruments, field recordings and incorporating the studio as a creative device in and of itself together with the engineering aid of Julia Kent during the recording process.

    Amklon – Collision of Absolutes

    ,
Amklon is a duo from Naples, composed of Giuseppe Mascia (electronics) and Sergio Albano (Aluminum guitar). Their music is the point of meeting of so many seemingly irreconcilable worlds: an architecture of dark synthetic sounds and avant-gard noise floating on atmospheric textures and confessional voices. The result is a complex system of unusual forms, which barely contains a substance made of organic and nonorganic sounds. The guitar sources are treated through the electronics, creating a continuos flow of tension and movement. It’s a desertic and gloomy experience, a descent into the dark corners of sound.

    Robert Crouch – Organs

    , ,
The three works comprising ‘Organs’ were selected and edited from a year of recordings developed in collaboration with choreographer and artist Julie Tolentino in 2014. Three separate projects were documented through audio recordings of performances and rehearsals, as well as related field recordings. Each piece recalls a matrix of encounters between a specific body (or bodies) within a unique context, conducting and responding to sounds, both electronic and organic. The interplay of the soft tissue, sinew, bone and blood of the body-organ, pushing against/within/outside the sustained tones and synthetic expressions of the techno-organ. Each organ exists simultaneously alienated from, and an extension of, the other. ‘Somniloquy’ was constructed using a recording of Tolentino “playing” the broken organ in preparation for the performance ‘Process(ion)X’ at the Church of the Epiphany. ‘The eyes of fire’ is based on a recording from Drive Your Cart And Plow Over The Bones Of The Dead, a nine hour performance with Julie Tolentino, Stosh Fila, and Robert Crouch at the San Francisco Art Institute, curated by Tania Hammidi. ‘The Propaganda of History’ was developed from a series of recordings made during rehearsal sessions with Tolentino and Mark Steger, with additional field recordings
